Driver Addendum
This Rapidoride Driver Addendum complements the Agreement between you and Rapidoride. It includes extra terms and conditions specific to your role as a rideshare service provider on our platform.
Driver Fare Structure and Pricing Guidelines
At RapidoRide, as outlined in the Driver Agreement and this Driver Addendum, you are entitled to a Driver Fare for each Rideshare Service performed for Riders. This Driver Fare comprises a base fare or pickup fare amount, along with incremental amounts based on the actual time and distance of the ride, as measured by RapidoRide.
The Driver Fare structure may vary based on factors such as the market where you provide Rideshare Services, the date of your approval as a Driver, the vehicle type you use, and the type of service provided (e.g., swift, elite, gather).
In some markets, RapidoRide may provide a predetermined Driver Fare, while in others, you may receive an Upfront Driver Fare quote before accepting a ride request. This Upfront Driver Fare is calculated considering factors such as estimated time and distance, pickup time and distance, and real-time market conditions. However, significant changes to the trip, such as alterations in the route or additional stops, may result in adjustments to the Upfront Driver Fare post-ride.
Additionally, you may earn incremental amounts based on the actual time and distance between accepting a ride request and picking up the Rider, as specified in your tariff displayed on your Driver dashboard.
It’s important to note that the Fare is a recommended amount. While RapidoRide provides suggested fares, you retain the right to charge a Fare lower than the suggested amount or negotiate a lower Fare upon request. RapidoRide will consider all Negotiated Fare requests from you in good faith.
Gratuities are not included in Fares, and receiving a gratuity is not guaranteed. Riders may choose to tip you at their discretion, and RapidoRide will not claim any portion of your gratuities. Any gratuities facilitated through our application will be included with your other earnings.
Please be aware that the tariff amounts and Fare structure may be subject to change at RapidoRide’s discretion, with any modifications communicated to you through the tariff. Your acceptance of ride requests implies acceptance of any changes made.
Driver Compensation and Additional Earnings
Any gratuity you receive from a Rider is your rightful earnings, and if facilitated through our app, it will be included in your overall Driver Payment. This payment encompasses Fares, estimated tolls, applicable taxes, fees, and surcharges. Additionally, you may receive supplemental payments, such as tips from Riders, surcharges collected on your behalf, tolls, damages, or similar charges, as well as bonuses and incentives based on your Rideshare Services.
Promotions and Ride Credits
RapidoRide may, at its discretion, offer promotional deals or Coupons to Riders. However, these discounts will not affect your Driver Fare or any other payments owed to you. Additionally, RapidoRide may sell Ride Credits on your behalf to boost your opportunities for providing Rideshare Services. These Ride Credits enable Riders to enjoy discounted or capped fares for qualifying rides, subject to specific terms and conditions. When a Rider uses Ride Credits for a qualifying ride, RapidoRide will apply the Ride Credit payment towards the total ride charges, following the terms associated with the Ride Credits. Your payment for Rideshare Services completed with Ride Credits will be determined based on the Driver Fare specified in this Driver Addendum. If Ride Credit collections from a Rider exceed the qualifying ride charges, RapidoRide may retain the excess amounts, considering its efforts in selling and marketing Ride Credits, as allowed by law.
Service Fees and Charges
For the services provided, connecting you with Riders and handling related processes such as payment processing, you will incur a service fee, referred to as the “Service Fee.” It’s worth noting that accessing our platform does not involve any charges to you. The Service Fee, applied per Ride, is calculated as the Rider Payment minus: (a) the Fare, (b) any gratuity, and (c) other deductions like Direct Fees, estimated taxes, tolls, surcharges, fees retained by us, and any additional payments detailed in the per-trip receipt (collectively referred to as “Service Fee Offsets”).
In cases where the Fare exceeds the Rider Payment (after excluding gratuity, Direct Fees, estimated taxes, tolls, surcharges, fees retained by us, and other specified payments), no Service Fee is levied for that Ride. Any surplus amounts received by you will be adjusted against your Service Fee(s) or, if necessary, any other outstanding payments. By opting for RideGather options, you agree to pay a Service Fee for each Rider’s Ride within a trip, with varying fees throughout the journey.
The “Weekly Service Fee” for the relevant period is calculated as all Rider Payments minus all Service Fee Offsets and any additional payments not itemized in the per-trip receipt.
Tax Responsibilities and Remittance Guidelines
Navigating the tax landscape for your rides is essential, and it’s your duty to comply with all applicable laws concerning registration, calculation, and remittance obligations. Providing us with the necessary tax information is part of this responsibility. Remember, you’re responsible for your own income taxes. In certain situations dictated by tax or regulatory considerations, we may opt to collect taxes from rider payments and handle the remittance directly to the relevant taxing authorities. Moreover, we may also facilitate the transmission of your tax details to the appropriate authorities on your behalf.
Utilizing Stripe for Secure Payment Processing
At RapidoRide, we’ve chosen Stripe to handle our payment processing services. This partnership is governed by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, inclusive of the Stripe Services Agreement (collectively referred to as the “Stripe Terms”). To ensure smooth transactions and compliance, it’s essential for all users to adhere to Stripe’s guidelines, which include providing accurate and necessary information about yourself and your business.
Additionally, please note that while we currently utilize Stripe, RapidoRide reserves the flexibility to engage with other payment processing vendors at any given time. This ensures we can adapt to changing needs and maintain optimal service delivery.
Payment Processing Agreement: Limited Agency and Pricing Terms
By engaging with RapidRide, you grant us the authority to act as your limited agent for the purpose of collecting payments for your rides, to which we consent. We will manage the processing of rider payments on your behalf through our platform’s payment infrastructure, aiming to remit owed amounts at least once weekly. The rider payment will be considered as if directly remitted to you by the rider, excluding direct fees. Upon acceptance of a ride, you commit to invoicing the rider payment either as recommended by us as your limited pricing agent or as per the negotiated fare. Either party may terminate this agreement, effective upon the settlement of all outstanding liabilities.
Electronic Communication Policy
As a driver with Rapidoride, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including updates, account notifications, policy changes, promotional offers, and other pertinent information related to your involvement with Rapidoride. These communications may be delivered via email, SMS/text messages, in-app notifications, or other digital channels as necessary. It is your responsibility to maintain accurate contact information associated with your Rapidoride account to ensure effective communication. You acknowledge that electronic communications serve as adequate notice and consent to receive such communications electronically. If you wish to opt out of certain communications, you can adjust your notification preferences within the Rapidoride driver app or contact our support team. Please note that opting out may impact your access to important updates and information. Rapidoride reserves the right to amend this policy, with any changes becoming effective upon posting on our platform. Your continued use of Rapidoride services after such modifications signifies acceptance of the updated policy.
