Insurance Hub: Your One-Stop Destination for All Coverage Needs

Insurance for rideshare drivers doesn’t have to be perplexing. Our aim is to help you grasp what you require, what RapidoRide insurance entails, and how to handle accidents.

RapidoRide: Ensuring Coverage for Every Journey.

Drivers are required to maintain auto insurance meeting government-mandated minimum coverage criteria. Standard personal auto policies typically don’t cover driving with RapidoRide. To ensure comprehensive protection on every trip, consider investing in rideshare insurance or adding a rideshare endorsement to your current coverage. Our RapidoRide commercial auto insurance, provided by Northbridge Insurance, covers you from the moment you’re ready to accept a ride in the app until the request is fulfilled, safeguarding passengers throughout the journey. However, for personal errands, rely on your own active personal auto insurance to drive with Rapidoride.

What Is Covered ?

At RapidoRide, we prioritize transparency and clarity regarding your insurance coverage while driving. To ensure you’re fully informed, it’s essential to understand the three distinct periods that dictate your insurance protection throughout your journey. These periods delineate various phases of driving, including waiting for a ride request, actively transporting a passenger, and the period in-between rides. By comprehending these periods, you can confidently navigate your insurance coverage and drive with peace of mind. For a detailed breakdown of what each period entails and the corresponding insurance coverage, explore our comprehensive resources. With RapidoRide, we’re dedicated to empowering our drivers with the knowledge they need to drive safely and securely.

Drivers are required to maintain personal auto insurance that meets state requirements, but most personal policies don’t cover driving with the RapidoRide app. RapidoRide provides commercial insurance for drivers in accordance with state and local laws, offering specific coverage while the app is in use. It’s important to understand that this commercial insurance does not replace your personal insurance.

While additional personal auto coverage beyond your personal policy isn’t mandatory, it may be available to provide extra protection when your app is active and you’re waiting for a ride request.

If you’re in an accident, you may be assisted during the claims process by companies such as Northbridge Insurance Company.

Typically, you should renew your personal auto insurance policy every 6-12 months. It’s important to keep your insurance current and compliant with state regulations while driving with RapidoRide. To maintain eligibility to drive on the RapidoRide platform, we’ll remind you to update your documentation 15 days before your policy expires. If you’re thinking about changing policies, you’ll soon have the option to get quotes from our partners, which could potentially offer better coverage or cost savings.

You need to have valid personal auto insurance. While extra insurance beyond your personal policy isn’t required, additional personal auto coverage may be available to provide added protection when your app is active and you’re waiting for a ride request. Below are insurers who might offer this optional coverage.

Contingent collision & comprehensive coverage offers reimbursement for damage to your vehicle up to its actual cash value, with a deductible of $2,500 deducted, contingent upon you already having personal comprehensive and collision coverage. It’s designed to provide assistance regardless of fault.

RapidoRide may provide uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage (UM/UIM) for accidents with drivers lacking or having insufficient insurance. Additionally, first-party coverages like Med Pay, PIP, and Occupational Accident coverage may be available for medical expenses and wage loss resulting from accidents, with no deductible required.

This insurance offers drivers coverage for liabilities arising from bodily injury and property damage to others or their property in a covered accident. It’s important to note: If you already possess commercial insurance (or personal coverage tailored for ridesharing), RapidoRide’s policy functions as secondary to your existing insurance coverage.

While waiting for a ride request, your personal auto insurance typically applies. However, RapidoRide also offers supplemental coverage during this time. If an accident occurs, your personal insurance may provide primary coverage, and RapidoRide’s supplemental coverage may act as secondary coverage, filling in any gaps or providing additional protection, depending on the circumstances and coverage limits.
